Weekend away :)

I have been MIA for a few days because of a little trip down to the Milton Keynes area! It was so much fun, we went to Woburn safari park and Ikea which were definately the highlights! I don't have my Ikea bits n bobs with me at the moment but I'll probably post them when I get them.

I was watching a DVD last night with some friends (Sherlock Holmes... love it!) and around 10pm we heard this drumming noise.. terrifying as the tunnel near where we were is meant to be haunted by a drummer boy or so the local ghost tours say!!


Turns out it was only a whole lot of strange people in the square with bongos, and a FIRE SWINGER.. the strangest thing I've ever seen on a Wednesday night for sure!

Perfumerie :)

We all like a nice spritz of perfume don't we? These are some of the favourites from my collecion.

I love looking into what the notes are in each fragrance and seeing which ones come out the most on my skin!
Most perfumes smell a bit different on each individual, so the notes that come out will be quite unique to you. Something that doesn't smell great on one girl might be gorgeous on you, so it's best to test on yourself and try not to write something off just because your friend isn't a fan :)

New Things (Primark, DIY)

I went to Primark again (oops!) and picked up just a couple of things. I was quite excited to find this bag as I've needed a smaller bag with enough room in it still for my stuff for a while, and I love this one. I also got some chinos, just because I'm bored of just having black trousers for work - there was heaps of different colours, but only 'duck egg' in my size.. I do like it though, luckily :)

I got a bit scared after reading about how bad the paraffin wax most candles are made out of is when you're burning it, so I did a bit of research and not only is soy wax so much cleaner to burn, it also lasts longer and is meant to have a brighter flame and 'throw' scent better - lovely! I now have a pretty Soy wax vanilla scented cocktail candle :)


I've had quite a good weekend, just relaxing with some Jonathan Creek after work on Friday (what a hellish day at work that was!!) and out for a couple of drinks on Saturday night with friends, which as usual ended in some McDonalds fine dining lol. It's Sunday now and I'm a bit sad that I've got to get up for work again tomorrow, but never mind, I have a week and 2 days off as of Thursday.. seriously can't wait :D just 3 more days to get through, and I always try to be optimistic and hope that each new week might be better than the last.. wish me luck lol

Tiny Weeny Primark Haul

Being bored in the centre of town isn't good, "let's just nip into primark, just to have a look.. I won't buy anything!"


I love the top, it has a cottony front with a chest pocket and a sheer back with a big dip and a chiffony bow which I can't wait to wear on a night out. (with a bandeau top or something underneath if I can't find a backless bra that I trust obv!)

I'm not sure about the boots, should I take them back? Should I keep them? Or take them back? ..or keep them? I have one on my foot right now and it's so comfy. I think they look like a modernised version of Victorian children's boots with the string laces and shaped toe/studded strap, I'm just not sure how much I'll wear them :/ guess I'll have to see if I end up reaching for them when getting ready or not!!

We also went to the park, it's so rare for my days off work to be lovely so we took our superhealthy McDonalds and sat in the sun for a while :)

Ink

I got my first tattoo today! I've wanted a feather on my wrist for ages, and looked at all the local tattoo shop galleries. They were all so cartoony except for the place opposite where I work which is really good for realistic designs. I already had the picture of what I wanted printed out, but I needed to know they wouldn't make it into a mickey mouse image on my skin and I'm really pleased with it :) It's still a bit red and swollen so isn't looking its best yet, but I've been given good aftercare instructions so hopefully in a couple of weeks it'll be all healed! It is a little bigger than I originally wanted but I still love it, hopefully I won't change my mind anytime soon or else I'm stuck haha



To care for it,

first 2 days : clean & dry every 3-4 hours, apply bepanthen cream and wrap with cling film

first 2 nights : clean, allow to 'breathe' for 1/2 an hour, apply bepanthen cream and wrap with cling film

for the next 5 days : apply bepanthen every 3-4 hours

for the next week : apply bepanthen 2x a day

To be honest I'm not looking forward to 2 days at work with cling film on my arm applying nappy rash cream, but they need to be cared for otherwise they scab and peel (ick). I'm sure I'll get a few funny looks, which I already have done just for planning to get a tattoo, but ya know, it's my body and just because it isn't to everyone's tastes doesn't make it a bad thing!

It's been a while..

Well, a couple of years..! I just had fun reading all my old posts, it seems like so long ago. I thought I might try to start blogging again and see if I can keep it up, it'll be fun :)

So what's been going on since I abandoned ship? Well, I finished uni with a BA in Management with Human Resource Management, I moved out of my student flat into a mouldy flat which I was promptly evicted from for no good reason while struggling to find a full time job, then everything came together and I am now working full time in an office and renting a lovely clean flat :) My job is only temporary til December, but it might get continued and things are looking good although I'm trying not to get too excited, at least I have experience now if it falls through!

Not much else has been very exciting, I've just been working, spending too much of my hard earned pennies and letting off steam with friends when I can, things are going really well at the moment.

I went to Edinburgh with a friend a couple of weeks ago which was my 'holiday' of the year, we had an amazing time evenb if some it was just so bad that it was funny!
